Long Distance Wedding Planning Woes? Not with Xanax!

Sasha & Matt’s relationship started out as a close friendship and three years later, Matt, all decked out in a tuxedo t-shirt, proposed on a random morning when they were both getting ready for work. They quickly started the planning process knowing they were moving to Chicago soon and would have to do much of it long distance, as they wanted their wedding in California where most of their friends and Sasha’s family lived.

As with many couples today, Sasha & Matt were covering the cost of their wedding entirely on their own and after much frustration trying to find a wedding venue that suited their personalities at a doable price, Matt found Gatherings online. With Gatherings’ all inclusive pricing of a beach wedding and reception and the online photos and great reviews, they thought “Too good to be true?”  So, they went to a tasting.  Sasha tells me they found the food great and the venue to be just what they were looking for, and the icing on the cake was meeting Samantha, one of Gatherings’ event managers, knowing she would be handling things long distance for them.   Sasha told us that they loved her instantly and on the day of their wedding, Matt even referred to her as a “walking Xanax” – I guess you could say they felt very calm and taken care of knowing Samantha was on their team.

Don’t you just love the Jeep — so “beachy!”

Sasha & Matt of course wanted everything to be perfect for their guests, many who were coming in from long distances; “You want to make the event worth the trip,” Sasha relayed. According to the compliments they received, they accomplished just that. Sasha said “everyone loved the personal feel of the venue, people weren’t stuck at tables with people they didn’t know, they were free to mingle, dance, snack and drink at their leisure. We didn’t just receive standard compliments, we received compliments like “this is the best wedding I have ever been to” and “every time I go to another wedding I will be comparing it to this one.”

Congratulations, Sasha & Matt, on putting together a beautiful day for yourselves and your guests, and we thank you for all the kudos.  We love what we do and we’re glad it shows, and of course it wouldn’t all come together so seamlessly beautiful without all the other fabulous local Monterey vendors Sasha & Matt hired for their special day.
