Vendor Profile – Fleurish Floral Designs
Working with vendors who not only do a fabulous job for our clients, but who also understand there’s a “BIG” picture to the day (not just “their part”) are a true gift and joy not only “for us” to work with but obviously for our clients as well, which made us think (thinking is always a good thing). . . let’s spread the love and share with our clients and fans some of the fabulous vendors we work with!
Who better to start this series with than Melody King, who was the floral designer at The Perry House’s very first “post-renovation” wedding on May 21, 2011. (You can see our blog from that event here.) Melody is not only a jewel to work with, but she just won the 15th Annual Florists’ Review’s “Picture-Perfect Weddings” contest — AND it so happens that it was for florals she did for a wedding at The Perry House; how perfect is that? To see the magazine spread, and the “big competition” she was up against, go to Florists’ Review April 2014.
Melody started Fleurish Floral Designs in 1991 when she and her husband decided to start a family. She didn’t really ramp up to a full time business until after her girls were in school, and it wasn’t until recent years, with them now in college, that she has had more time and the business has really “flourished”!
We first started seeing Melody on the scene with her beautiful flowers when our Monterey Beach Wedding business and Pacific Grove venue, Gatherings, started escalating back in 2008. Melody remembers being way excited when she first found out about our plans to renovate The Perry House. She has vivid memories of the property from when she was a kid, which at the time it was a Greek restaurant called Captain Jacques.
Thank you Melody for making our life easier; we hope we do the same for you, and we look forward to your being a part of many more lovely events at both The Perry House and Gatherings!
